lois and me

Lois buttons

Don’t worry, I’m not starting to refer to myself in third person.

And I have no illusions of grandeur that I am pretty hot stuff. OMG just the idea of that makes me laugh.

But my name?

Well, if the Loises who have come before me are any indication, yes, the name Lois is something special. [Read more…]

Banana cream pie

Michael and I believe National Pi Day should be changed to National Banana Cream Pie Day so that’s how we celebrated March 14. In honor of the occasion, I even had 3.14 slices. [Read more…]

#40bags40days: Day 11

I am loving #40bags40days, the challenge in which you’re supposed to get rid of 40 bags of junk in 40 days.

Well, it’s Day 11 and I am right on track. [Read more…]

Pool in rain

Okay, I know I was only going to do this once a month but I love the whole idea of it and it was almost two weeks ago that I posted the last Currently.

Plus, I’m gotten so into the big #40days#40bags de-cluttering project, I want to keep the momentum going and keep dumping!

So here’s what I’m currently up to. How about you? [Read more…]

spring cleaning: #40bags40days

“What are you up to?” my son asked from New York yesterday.

“I’m cleaning out the tea,” I replied. [Read more…]

West Palm Beach ocean

One of the highlights of getting to #ExperienceBuick in Detroit last weekend was meeting Andi Fisher of Misadventures with Andi. She is an awesome person and I’m so excited about spending time with her over the next year.

Andi does a great monthly post called “Currently,” which I just discovered because I have a bunch of assignments due and I am currently procrastinating.

Because I totally fell in love with this idea and it gave me a glimpse into Andi’s life — and it’s a quick and easy post — I decided to try one myself. I may even do this monthly. [Read more…]

my word for 2015

For the past two years, my word has been “do.”

It’s a word I considered keeping again this year because it’s served me so well. But, the truth is, it’s served me so well and inspired me to do so much, frankly, I’m exhausted.

I know I will always continue to keep doing because I’ve learned the power of that word and have really loved where it’s taken me. But I thought I should hone in and improve on it for 2015. [Read more…]

e is for ending the stupid alphabet challenge

Stop sign

Okay, that’s not really fair. The alphabet challenge isn’t stupid. It’s actually really fun and a great way to discipline yourself to write for 26 days and to give you a context in which to find topics to write about.

It was just stupid of me to take it on in December. [Read more…]

nablopomo: everything’s better when you share

Shared Experiences

It’s November 30, which means it’s the last day of NaBloPoMo. Thank God.

Nah, not really. I like to complain about it and affectionately call it things like NaBloMePoMo but, deep down, I love it and am happy to participate. In fact, it’s always such a great experience, I’ve commited to starting the year with another one in January. [Read more…]

25 things i’m thankful for: the movie edition

Pinterest thanks

Sure, I love the turkey and pie but my favorite part of Thanksgiving has always been the actual giving of thanks.

In 2012, I shared 25 things I’m thankful for and, in 2013, I shared 25 more things I’m thankful for. I’m still thankful for all of those things.

This year, though, I thought I’d shake it up a little.  [Read more…]
