I lost eight ounces this week.
Woo hoo!
It definitely wasn’t a “woo hoo” when I first got on the scale but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was actually something to celebrate.
This was a hard week and, without Jenny Craig and Jazzercise, the numbers would definitely have been going up, not down.
It was a hard week not because I was having trouble following the program but because:
* I got my period. Yes, I am 54 years old, but that’s a post for another time.
* My son came home for the holiday weekend, and we always eat at Chipotle together. Always.
* One of my son’s favorite restaurants in San Diego is Del Mar Rendezvous, where I always order the Walnut Shrimp. Always.
* Michael and I went out to dinner with friends at Davanti, where we always indulge in the focaccia stuffed with cheese and topped with honey. Always.
* We celebrated Rosh Hashanah at our friends’ house, and always mark the holiday with thick challah bread and lots of desserts for a sweet new year. Always.
A week like this always results in a couple of extra pounds. Always.
Until now.
Because I knew these events were coming, I was able to counteract their negative effects by sticking to my Jenny Craig meals the rest of the time, drinking extra water and getting up early to go to the 8:15 Jazzercise classes over the weekend in addition to my regular weekday classes. I have never been inspired to get up early to exercise before. Never.
All in all, it was a great week, and I was able to enjoy a full plate — literally.
It made me realize that even an itsy bitsy loss is always a win. Always.
*I received a free month on the program in order to do this review. There was no compensation. The opinions expressed are my own and not influenced in any way. Note: Clients following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs per week.

Sounds like some of those “always”s need to change! I “always” drank a Dr. Pepper while watching TV on Monday nights – I now ride my bike instead. I “always” sat on my ass after the kids got home from school – we now walk together. Changing our “always”s is a great way to change our bodies! I have faith that you can do it!

Thanks, Sadie! I am changing my “always” to “sometimes!” Moderation is the key, I think!
