Thank goodness for Jenny Craig.
At my weigh-in today, I lost 2 pounds, bringing my grand total to 18 pounds.
This is great and I’m very grateful to the amazing women at Jenny Craig, but I am totally disgusted with myself.
How did I let myself get to this point? A point where 18 pounds barely makes a difference? A point where I could be a heavyweight contender?
Stephanie, my counselor who I absolutely adore — and who is adorable, thin and hilarious, and you’d never guess she lost 60 pounds — really listened when I told her I felt like this. Of course, she told me I should be proud of what I’ve accomplished so far but she also understood my frustration with myself and said she’d often felt like that before, too.
Just having that honest, personal conversation made a big difference to me.
I am sharing this because I want all of you who are struggling with weight to know that you’re not alone, that so many of us have been there — are there — and that every baby step counts.
I always focus on the positive so I’m not sure what it was this morning that brought me down — probably the fact that I’m now at the weight I was at when I started Jenny Craig last time around. That means I not only gained back all my weight but I also added 18 pounds.
No more.
I’m putting it in writing and making myself accountable. I may be starting this fight in the heavyweight category but I’m going to win it as a lightweight.
*I received a discount on my Jenny Craig food in order to do this review. There was no compensation. The opinions expressed are my own and not influenced in any way. Note: Clients following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs per week.

I always tell people that are taking this journey that they should be proud of themselves for recognizing and then trying to do something about it. Even if they are not perfect they are at least trying.

Awesome work! Losing weight is very hard, and keeping it off is equally hard and you are doing an amazing job! I’m in my mid-20’s and losing 60lbs and gaining 20 back and trying to fight it off is hard.

18 pounds is still an accomplishment to be proud of! I’ve been there too though, wondering how I got to this point and why I can’t lose weight.

Beating yourself up unfortunately burns no calories (otherwise we ALL would be at our goal weight). Give yourself a hug and be proud of the 18 pounds. I think that’s amazing. I think that YOU are, too!

Congratulations on the 18 lbs! No point on looking back where you were before, just look ahead, you are doing great!

You need to give yourself a break and be proud. Losing weight is one of the toughest things to do and you are doing it. Take one day at a time and don’t forget to allow yourself a cheat day every now and then.

18 pounds seems like a big deal to me. Something to be very proud of. But I’m always harder on myself than on others too. So I can relate to your disgust. This, too, shall pass.

18 pounds is really fabulous. Don’t be so down on yourself. Sounds to me like this program is working for you and you have to look at the bigger picture…10 more weeks could mean a total of 36 pounds. The weight did not just magically appear overnight and it won’t disappear overnight.
Rosey says
Love that you’re doing it with accountability from the get-go. Wishing you tons of luck and support!
