Report From BlogHer 2011 Part 2: 10 Things We Love About Ree Drummond, "The Pioneer Woman"

BlogHerWe told you last week about the great day we spent with two of our all-time favorite bloggers at BlogHer, and shared 10 things we love about Kathryn Finney, founder of The Budget Fashionista.

Now, because if there’s one thing we are, it’s fair, here are 10 things we love about Ree Drummond, founder of The Pioneer Woman:

1. She is authentic. So authentic that she asked for a time-out during her presentation to fix her Spanx which she confessed had ridden up and were inhibiting her breathing!

2. She has become one of the Web’s most successful bloggers by staying true to her own voice and principles.

3. Her focus is always on content, content, content.

4. She’s a big-time dog lover.

5. Her recipes are so delicious-sounding and her tutorials so easy to follow, she has almost inspired us to start cooking.

6. She just started an Entertainment section, and she loves John Hughes’ movies and John Cusack as much as we do.

7. She gives a shout-out to her fellow bloggers on her home page through the very visible “Great Sites,” which we hope will feature StyleSubstanceSoul.com one of these days!

8. Her photography is stunning.

9. She features categories like “Gross-Out Stories” and “Poetry of a Madwoman” on her blog.

10. She has been a pioneer for female bloggers in so many important ways.

  1. I’ve been reading Ree’s blog for a few years now. I just adore her! I can’t wait to watch her on Food Network.

  2. When I was in Oklahoma earlier this year, I picked up her cookbook; it’s great. I also follow her on Facebook; she seems like a terrific lady.

BlogHer sounds like it was so awesome … what a great idea for a conference, a place to share & learn!!

  3. Thanks so much for the introduction to Ree and her blog! I’m excited to see her Food Network show! She’s the epitome of authenticity and down and dirty (pioneer woman style) reality. Love it!
