It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s Midweek at the Oasis, and time to share the best of what’s been on the web this week. First, I’m featuring this quote to reassure you that my house is filled — filled — with poetry. Maybe that’s because I live with a poet. You can read Michael’s latest micropoem here. At 152 characters, it’s barely longer than a Tweet.
Next, here’s one of the most brilliant ideas I’ve seen in a long time.
Proving that chivalry can take many forms, including that of a human chair, I present the good deed of the week.
I’m sorry if you’re sick of hearing Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” — unfortunately for my husband, I’m not — but this video of Marines watching Frozen and singing along is just irresistible.
It seems appropriate to end with this bit of modern advice.
Love the videos! I have heard of 2 of them but hadn’t seen them yet.
That video of the marines singing Let it Go made the news here in Boston. It’s hilarious!!
Haha great compilation of videos. Had seen the “frozen” one circulating but hadn’t had time to watch it. Cracked up at the Hoorah moment!
Love the Let It Go video!
LOL! Love The Man Acting As A Bench How Adorable Thank You For All The Laughs!!
I really enjoyed this post. I needed a pick me up.
These are great! It is true about clutter being a sign of warmth in a home too! 🙂
Okay, that video of the Marines watching Frozen is hilarious.
I love that quote. My house is full of poetry too. I shall continue to see it that way and when my husband asks why I haven’t cleaned the house I shall tell him I do not wish to disturb the flow of poetry. 🙂
Great videos! The one of the Marines singing is my favorite. 🙂
Ha, ha, ha… love that ‘let it go’ video… My kids love, love, love that song. Thanks for putting a smile on my face
This is the first time I’ve seen the Marines watching Frozen video and although I’m a little tired of the movie, I LOVE this video!
You always have such great videos! LOVED the one of the Marines watching Frozen. it sounds like my house when the kids watch it (well maybe not exactly the same!)
Oh those silly Marines! That video was priceless!
My favorite video was the one about looking up from social media. It was so touching it made me cry!
I love the video where the guy becomes a human chair. It made me smile.
I love these videos. I have seem most of them but the noble heart is new.
1. I couldn’t bring myself to click on the Frozen video. My girls are older now, but I swear, “Let It Go” rakes a dad’s nerves more than Justin Bieber.
2. The screens. Holy smoke. What can we do about the screens? My girls have had friends over to sit on the couch, elbow to elbow, and use only their thumbs.
3. My house is so full of poetry, it’s like Langston Hughes, e e cummings and Maya Angelou decided to do their spring cleaning in my living room.
These videos are great! When I was serving in a restaurant it would drive me crazy when people were on their cell phones or tablets during dinner. And I couldn’t agree more with the opening quote… I have learned to love having the house in a bit of a tousled mess. It means we are busy living!
I look forward to these compilations because you always find the very best videos to share with us.
BTW, social media might be an illusion, but our friendship feels – no IS – very real to me.
BTW, I am glad that there was no FB or texting when Jordan was young. I hate seeing parents pushing strollers, and instead of talking to their babies as I did, they are on their cell phones. I want to tell them time is fleeting, so put down the phone!
I love these videos – totally made my day!
What a fun post! Of course, my favorite video is the one of the Marines as my son is in the Marine Corps (he’s in the Middle East right now; (mama is not happy about that…) and he hates this video, LOL. I sent it to him, he responded that he hated it, so I said “Let it go … let it go …” and he said, “Make it stop … make it stop”. I miss that boy and love him so much – – cant’ wait for him to back in the U.S.A. At least I have my daughter here in Miami with me.
Happy Mother’s Day to you, Lois!!!
I myself can never get sick of hearing Let it Go. My kids give me no choice. lol
I’m just excited to have my household clutter justified! Thanks!
