Crest Pro Health

I hate going to the dentist.

Although Dr. G is actually a very nice man and I would be happy to go for coffee with him (which he would probably frown upon because it would stain my teeth), I have had enough tooth issues in my lifetime to dread my annual visits.

Because I would like to see him as little as possible, I am always looking for products that will help keep my mouth in good shape.

So I jumped at the chance to try new Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection Rinse. more »

Kia Soul married

How cute! The car next to me pretended it had just married my Kia Soul!

I confess. I always kind of made fun of the Kia Soul.

I mean, it was so different and so out there. And using hamsters to sell cars? Come on.

Then I spent a week driving one.

And I would be hanging my head in shame at this moment if I wasn’t so full of that hamster swagger.

I totally get it now. This is not a car in which you feel shame. And that’s awesome. more »

Bingo board

So excited about winning, I blurred the photo! Oops!

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend – and publicist extraordinaire – Anna Crowe hosted a beautiful Mother’s Day luncheon for local moms in the media in honor of AT&T. It was held at Cusp, one of my favorite restaurants, which overlooks the Pacific from atop the Hotel La Jolla and serves some of the best food in San Diego.

Even better, it gave me a great excuse to spend time with my pals Elin Stebbins Waldal, Ruth Curran and Barbara Feldman because it was, a – ahem – work event. more »

lyssé leggings: good-bye sweats

Lysse leggings

I love stretchy pants.

As a writer who works from home, I pretty much live in them. Over the past 25 years, I’ve shown up on the school drop-off line in pajama bottoms, worn sweats to Little League games, attended parent-teacher conferences in yoga pants and traded in my jeans for jeggings. more »

I am livid after watching Fed Up, the documentary narrated by Katie Couric and billed as “the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see.”

Demeter in the garden

I’ve been a huge fan of Demeter Fragrance forever, and vividly remember buying Wet Grass and Laundromat when they first came out. I was blown away by the idea of scents that could completely capture the essence of an everyday object and remind me so powerfully of specific moments in time. more »
