When it comes to cooking – well, honestly, I don’t. If it’s not in a box or a package that’s ready to microwave, I’m not going to make it. So I was relieved that the sponsored food post I was recently offered was for Minute® Ready to Serve Rice. Although my rice experiences have been pretty much limited to 1) Chinese take-out, 2) Chipotle burrito bowls and 3) cell phone rescue, I figured that was something I could – and actually might – make.
I happily browsed through their “no recipe recipes” (I can’t tell you how much I loved that title) and went straight to the desserts. Rice pudding! It required four ingredients and no real cooking. Perfect.
Here is the “no recipe recipe” in its entirety: Heat Minute® Ready to Serve White Rice for one minute (duh!), stir in one vanilla pudding cup, mix in raisins, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
This was the extent of my cooking.
The result? YUM!
What I really like about this, other than the taste (which was so good that, as you can see from the less-than-food-blog-quality photo above, I dug into it before remembering to take a picture) is that it literally took me less than five minutes to make, from start to finish. Also, because you’re making individual servings, you won’t be tempted to eat an entire bowl-ful, so it’s way healthier. Plus, it cost me maybe $1.50 total.
Because this was so easy, I just may attempt a main dish tomorrow. Who knew I could actually enjoy making food? It just goes to show that life really can change in a Minute®!
