the #ikeatimetravel experiment continues on into the future!

Ikea time travel - Justin Trance

IKEA - Justin Trance & couple

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are, as always, 100% mine.

Remember IKEA’s time travel experiment which I shared with you a couple of weeks ago, in which world-renowned hypnotist Justin Tranz hypnotizes a young couple into believing they’re experiencing the future in IKEA bedrooms and bathrooms? Well, the video was such a success, they’ve just created a new one.

Apparently, we all want to know what’s going to happen next!

“The Time Travel Experiment is our way of starting a conversation about the everyday moments that, more often than people think, actually happen in the bedroom and bathroom,” says Mattias Jöngard, Global Communication Manager at IKEA. “That’s why those rooms are the focus for IKEA this year.”

According to director Andreas Nilsson, “A lot of research and testing went into this project. We really wanted the couple to feel they had travelled in time, and hypnosis together with supporting actors proved to be the best solution to making it happen.”

You can watch the new video below.

I predict this one will be equally successful. Luckily, we have the power to make that prediction come true without being hypnotized! Become part of the phenomenon just by Tweeting this:

  1. Somebody in IKEA’s marketing team really knows hot to hit all the right buttons don’t they? For the record, I just checked and that YouTube video has been viewed 20,960 times right now. Waiting for those numbers to go through the roof :)!

  2. I, too, must have been under a rock 🙂 I had no idea… but it’s a fun idea, and I love learning about it now!

  3. Ha. I believe your prediction will come true. (Though who am I to offer any support for that belief when I never even saw the first one!). 😀

An interesting campaign. I look forward to seeing how “viral” the video goes. Thank you for allowing me to feel a little more “in the know” by now knowing IKEA is pretty hip.

  4. Oh I am a huge Ikea fan and must have missed your last post… ahhh!!! But it sounds so funny and I think the next one will go viral.

  5. The marketing guys at Ikea really hit it with this one. I have no doubt this will be in viral territory soon.

  6. It is crazy how quickly things go viral. I hope this one does just as well, it is crazy to think how much effort they put into making the people believe they are in the future.

  7. OK I have not seen any of them so this is all new to me. I’m sure this will probably go viral since the first did so well.
