Okay, you are so going to thank me for this.

As we’re all making resolutions and words for the new year, losing weight and eating healthier always seem to top the list. For me, the hardest part is cutting down on sweets. But I’ve learned I can make it through the day if I know I have a great snack to look forward to, and Yoplait Light just made that so much easier.

Just look at these flavors! Boston Cream Pie! Strawberry Shortcake! Orange Creme! Raspberry Cheesecake! Boston Cream Pie! (Okay, I have a chocolate obsession.)

Yoplait light flavors

There are actually more than 20 different flavors but I bought those because they sounded the most dessert-y to me.

To make them even more dessert-y, I checked out Yoplait Yogurt’s 150 Calorie Snack Hacks board on Pinterest, which you should definitely follow because it has some amazing ideas, like that Chocolate Grasshopper Yogurt in the top picture. You just add 1/4 teaspoon Creme de Menthe to the Yoplait Light Boston Cream Pie and sprinkle with cocoa. AND IT’S ONLY 150 CALORIES!

Because I don’t always have extra ingredients in my house, I also found this brilliant idea to make frozen yogurt pops. So I took a Strawberry Shortcake Yoplait Light, turned it upside down, used a knife to cut out what used to be the bottom of the container, stuck a piece of foil on it and inserted a craft stick.

After a few hours in the freezer, voila!

Yoplait Light pop

It was so easy and tasted so refreshing, I now have a freezer full of them. They fill me up, are super satisfying and, because they are just pure Yoplait Light, they are only 90 calories apiece! What they don’t have is fat or aspartame — which is a win win.

I’m heading back to the grocery store this afternoon because I want to try the White Russian Yogurt Cup and the Double Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry Yogurt Cup.

I’ve decided I’m going to treat myself to one Yoplait Light 150 Calorie Snack Hack every day as my dessert to look forward to. And I bet that’s one resolution I will easily keep.

  1. I will definitely buy these because I am also .. ahem .. dieting and looking for healthy dessert. alternatives. Can I just say that seeing you with a yogurt pop BY THE POOL is making me cry? It’s a frozen tundra here. And I have to take the dog out.

  2. I’m sorry Helene beat me to the punch. As I stare out my window at the freezing cold leaves tightly curled up from the frigid temps and snow on the ground your pool photo made me crazy! Happy for you but crazy.

Anyway I’d love to try these. They sound so delicious and wonderful for losing weight. Thanks!

  3. Super idea — though far too chilly for Colorado dwellers!

I just printed my own Yoplait list and can’t wait to pick them up tomorrow. I plan on eating the low-calorie goodness, as well. (And I smile to see you are once again on the same path I am.) 😀

  4. That is OUR go to pool snack … also, frozen green and red grapes on sticks tend to be a big hit too.

  5. I was already a big fan of Yoplait Yogurt but this gives me an even bigger reason to be in love with them! It is that time of the month to stock up on groceries and I will definitely be adding this to the list!

  6. Oooo I want to do your yogurt pop idea! I eat yogurt every day for breakfast, but I love this for a snack idea.

  7. Now that looks very delicious and so easy to do. I would love those especially in the summer months. I would have no problem eating if right from the fridge year round.

  8. Boston cream pie! I’d go for that one, too! I love the idea of freezing the yogurt into pops. I usually do that when I have a big box full and the expiration date is getting close… 😉
