I am laughing so hard, I can barely type this post.
You remember that stunning sweater I’m modeling above, right? The one you all told me to get rid of?
Well, as promised, I sent it to my friend, Ellen Martin, in Lockport, New York, because she wanted to yarn bomb the city with it.
Here’s the email I just got from her:
The good news: the sweater arrived yesterday. Yay!
The bad news: my mother decided she wanted it. She has herself all cozy and warm and is now taking a nap while wearing your sweater. So prepping it for yarn bombing will have to wait a while…
Xoxo
So, for now, my sweater has a beautiful new home, and I have to admit it looks better on Ellen’s mom than it ever did on me.
Mrs. Martin, wear it in good health, and when you get sick of wearing it, you’ll still be able to enjoy it hanging from a lamp post downtown.
To be continued …

That is hilarious and she is adorable!
Edee Lemonier says
That’s hilarious! And also awesome! But really it’s very sweet, because your friend’s mom got something that fits well and is warm and cozy and makes her happy. So why not?
Still, I’m laughing pretty hard. Next time send the sweater to a PO Box just in case. I really want to know what a yarn bomb is and see pictures!!
Lois Alter Mark says
Yarn bombing is when knitters cover up ugly public things like electrical posts or fire hydrants with beautiful creations. Take a look at these: http://content.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,2077071,00.html

It took a while, but the sweater finally found its rightful owner – it was meant for this lovely lady.

She is adorable. Although if she is anything like my mother, probably would not want to be called adorable. Regardless I’d say that sweater was made for her.
Lois Alter Mark says
I absolutely agree!

Mrs. Martin wears it well! The yarn-bombing can wait 🙂
Lois Alter Mark says
Exactly what I think!

She is totally rocking it!
Cathy Chester says
You made someone very happy. Who knew that sweater could do that? You never know.
What else do you have in your closet that we can get a laugh out of? Hahaha.
Helene Cohen Bludman says
Your sweater and Mrs. Martin. Beshert!
Lois Alter Mark says
Exactly!
Jane says
Actually, I have a sweater in my closet, given to me from a friend whose Mother wore it for years, and when she passed she gave it to me. (She is much younger than *) And I wear it with pride, and always think of her when I do.
Good story Lois……jaz
Lois Alter Mark says
Love that, Jane. I hope you have pictures of both of you in the sweater. Would love to see them!
Jane says
That is “she is much younger than I” not *…..don’t know how old * is……….jaz
Lois Alter Mark says
Ha!I may start using * for my age!
