I took this quiz on my friend’s blog the other day and think I found Michael and my next trip. I’ve been dreaming of it ever since — but, unfortunately, not in a bed like the one above. That’s the one I’m dreaming of.
Yes, this seems like a newlywed quiz and, yes, we’ve been married for almost 33 years but we still like to think of every trip as a honeymoon.
Ha ha ha! Seriously, our anniversary is in August and it would be great to find a really romantic place to go.
Anyway, my results came up 67% for Bali and 33% for Hamilton Island, Australia. I’ve already been to Hamilton Island with, ahem, Oprah, and although I would go back in a heartbeat (koalas, Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef, oh my), I’ve always wanted to visit Bali.
So I clicked on My Holiday Centre, which offers high-end all-inclusive packages, to learn more, and this is what I saw.
My bag is packed.
The 5-star Amarterra Villas, Nusa Dua is “located in an enclave of luxury,” and each villa – villa! – has its own private swimming pool. That’s all I needed to hear. It also offers “daily homemade cookies and candy.” That’s all Michael needed to hear.
It also features a spa which embodies ancient Hindu and Buddhist Dharma philosophy.
It focuses on serenity.
And it uses all natural and sustainable resources.
The pictures alone deliver on its promise to “send your senses into a pleasant overdrive.”
So, if you don’t hear from us for a little while, you’ll know where we are. But please don’t try to find us. After all, we’ll be on our honeymoon.
Take the short quiz above and see where you should be going on your next romantic vacation. Please leave a comment to let me know. Maybe we’ll see you in Bali!
I would LOVE to get to Bali someday! It sounds so exotic.
Vacationed in Bali three decades ago. It was enchanting. Have fun!
I came up with Hamilton Island, but Bali sounds exactly like what I want/need/yearn for! Every. Single. Thing.
Bali sounds wonderful! I didn’t take the quiz, as I feared that my pedestrian tastes would land me in Paterson, New Jersey.
Ha ha! I don’t think Paterson, New Jersey is one of the choices – although I’m sure it’s very romantic!
Hey . . . Paterson, New Jersey was about 10 minutes away from where I grew up!!!! LOL
An account is required to play..but I can tell you right now that my husband has taken me to so many wonderful places…and this fall we’re going to Sicily (my 2nd time, his first) and in December we’re taking the Christmas market cruise on the Danube. I love to ravel!
You can click play without an account. It’s the second option, and that’s what I did. Ooh, would love to do that Christmas market cruise. It will be amazing!
Lois, no need for me to take the quiz – your answer was good enough for me! My husband and I agreed Bali is a great place to check out on our next overseas trip. BTW – We’ll be married 33 years, too, on July 24th! Must be some blogger karma here 🙂
This looks spectacular! I love how peaceful it seems.
Bali is definitely on my bucket list too. I’ve heard wonderful things about it from friends and if you make it before me I/we all expect a trip report. Happy early anniversary where ever you go! ~Kathy
Bali is my absolute dream vacation, because I have never seen a photo from there that wasn’t spectacular. Maybe someday… Until then I’ll just have to dream.
OMG – sign me up! Looks amazing!
OH MY! It looks fantastic! I love destinations like these but am always aware of what lies on the outskirts – immense poverty, high crime, etc. I think that I think way too much. I’d do this in a heartbeat. ENJOY you two lovebirds!
Do you think Michael would mind if I came with? I would try hard not to interfere with your honeymoon, promise!
Looks Like A Great Quiz Will Have To Do Would Love To Visit Bali Some Day WITHOUT THE KIDS!! LOL!
Lucky lady Bali, you have some breathtaking pictures. Oprah, You’re super lucky!! I would love to start travelling !!
Bali is a dream vacation for me. I would love love love to go. I know its expensive traveling from the U.S. so I don’t know if we will have a chance to go. you never know though!! 🙂
I love that you still think of every trip as a holiday. That is awesome.
This looks like a great place to spend a holiday.
Bali looks gorgeous. Now I want to go there too!
That sounds amazing! Dream honey moon would be Italy and Greece on a food tour!
sounds and looks amazing, I would never want to leave!
It’s been a long time since I went on a big, big vacation. I am open to just about anywhere at this point.
Honestly, I don’t know where my dream honeymoon would be.
OUR anniversary is in August, too. How about we celebrate together in Bali??
Gorgeous! I want to go!!!
With a Type 1 diabetic 12 year old son at home, and me being out of work and trying to start a freelance career, traveling is not even a remote possibility. Plus my hubby HATES to travel!!!
Bali sounds wonderful. I’ve been to Tahiti already and that was wonderful. Thanks for getting me to think about Bali as an option.
Bali is one of those places I wish I had visited when I was younger. Maybe I need to quit thinking like that. Not very romantic or empowering.
