One of the most overwhelming things about coming home from a two week trip is going through the mail.
So, the morning after we returned from our incredible Viking Ocean Cruise, I trudged over to my work mailbox, where the guys were very happy to get rid of practically a shelf’s worth of packages. They were tossing them over to me when we were all stopped dead in our tracks by a box marked “Diet Coke.”
“Ooh, what’s in there?” they asked, mirroring the eager anticipation that was going through my own head.
You may remember my hysteria excitement when Diet Coke last sent me a package, and I was blessed with my own Lois bottles, which still sit proudly on my desk.
This time around, we opened the box and found:
(Note: Notice how well it fits in with my Anthropologie comforter. Yes, I have it in bed with me. Don’t judge.)
The guys practically fell over themselves trying to get to the box, and I had to slap their hands away so I could do the honors. I pointed out to them the words, “It’s Mine,” clearly marked on top and they stepped away, graciously acknowledging their faux pas.
And, although I wanted to do a dramatic, slow reveal, I yanked open the top to discover:
“Ah,” we all hushed, reverently. And, together, we read about Diet Coke’s new campaign.
It turns out this is a one-of-a-kind bottle, and that Diet Coke has created millions — millions! — of unique designs. Plus, for the first time in the brand’s history, these designs will appear on those iconic 12 oz. glass contour bottles — but just for a limited time.
I read that Diet Coke originally created 36 “base” designs which were inspired by the brand’s bubbles, fizz and taste. They took those designs and used HP software to create millions of different graphics.
You know I will be stocking up on these. I plan to fill the bottles with flowers and place them all around my house because each one is truly a piece of art.
Of course, I have a special fondness for my bottle which has a nice, pop art feel that appropriately takes me back to the ’60s.
I even took a picture of this beauty and made it my phone wallpaper.
So if you see this phone or you see this bottle, there will be no mistake: It’s Mine!

Your bottle is amazing! Coke is a marketer non-pareil and it’s always fun to see what they come up with. Always unique, always a surprise.

I can’t imagine going through a pile of 2 weeks worth of mail! lol I’d survive it though if I had goodies like this very cool looking Coke bottle to unwrap! I’ll be keeping an eye out for some of their new designs!

Awwww… the pile of mail at the end of a trip… not my favorite jet lag activity, the post-vacation sort. Glad you had something to spur you on – very cute!

This is so cool. I’ll admit something shallow-I only like Coke now and its advertising because of my love for MadMen! LOL.

Wow, they are stunning! I can’t wait to get one…or maybe two!
