Tired of video gamers getting such a bad rap, the industry decided to band together and form its own charity. Last year alone, Child’s Play – the gamers’ charity – raised almost $1.5 million dollars in donated toys, games, books and cash for sick children around the world.
Child’s Play holds an annual toy drive every November and December, collecting gifts for the more than 60 Children’s Hospitals in their network. They post wish lists from the specific hospitals and, although they can’t accept used games or systems, they are a registered eBay Giving Works charity so you can sell your old items on eBay and have them forward the proceeds to Child’s Play.
Game on!
