Bloggers start to go a little crazy halfway through NaBloPoMo, so we turn to games like 5 Truths and a Lie to amuse ourselves, each other and, hopefully, all of you.
As challenging as it was to do last year, it’s way harder this time around. I mean, I’ve already shared my confessions about throwing out my husband’s beloved sweater, about slapping a woman in the face over a cab, about getting cursed out by a prostitute.
Really, what don’t you know about me?
Well, I guess we’ll see right now.
Five of these are true. Which one do you think is the lie?
1. I smoked cigarettes throughout my senior year of high school.
2. I wrote a bestselling book.
3. I lost a diamond at the racetrack.
4. I bought a TV in college to watch one show, and returned it the next day.
5. I was undefeated in my tennis league.
6. I threw up in the elevator of my apartment building.
Check back tomorrow for the answers 🙂
Nancy Lowell says
I too am thinking #5 for no particular reason, but my gut (which has a 75% accuracy rate).
NaBloPo Mo can be a bitch!! You’re almost there 🙂
Lois Alter Mark says
75% accuracy is excellent!
Cathy Chester says
It’s a toss-up for me because I didn’t think you ever smoked, and I can’t imagine you returning a TV. For any reason. Even when you were younger and perhaps broke. So I’ll go with #4……Here we go! xo
Lois Alter Mark says
You think #4 is the lie or the truth?
Carol Cassara says
#1. I think it’s Smoking.
Lois Alter Mark says
We shall see …
Lois Alter Mark says
Ha ha! Tune in tomorrow …
Elin Stebbins Waldal says
After all the times we have had lunch or breakfast, I cannot believe we never talked about smoking! Hmmmm. What to pick, what to pick. Gotta go with 1. Even though it was “cool” back then to smoke? I just can’t picture you smoking.
Ruth Curran says
Just when you think you know someone :)! I know which ones I want to be true!!! Writing down my guess! Can’t wait to see the answer tomorrow!
Doreen McGettigan says
I have no idea why but I’m guessing #3.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I just picked one, too. I really don’t have any idea 😉
Angela Weight says
I’m going with number 3 because I don’t really picture you hanging around race tracks, but I could be wrong. I could totally see you being a competitive tennis player. I think it’s funny that no one yet has chosen #6.
Edee Lemonier says
Don’t know which is the lie, but I hope it’s not #4. That’s hilarious!!
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I am so bad at stuff like this, but i will pick #2. And that is totally a guess…..
Jackie says
I believe them all — really, you should write fiction, LOL!
I can’t wait to see which one is the lie. Really, I can’t. The suspense is killing me 🙂
Jeanine says
I guess #1 I can’t picture you smoking at all! I’m now curious as to the answer of this though! How fun!
Terry says
Well I’m going with number one the smoking of the cigarettes. The reason I’m probably going with that one is because I hate see girls smoking
Mary La Fornara says
I’m thinking it is number 3.
Mary Lanzavecchia says
Unlike others, I can see a cigarette hanging from those lips (perhaps, because I was a chain smoker long ago), but I think you probably hold your liquor better than I did. I’m going with #6, unless I’m wrong, at which point I will change my answer. 😉
Sheryl says
I love all these -and love the fact that only one is a lie! Hmmm.. #6, perhaps?
amanda ripsam says
I’m going to go with #2 best selling books are had to pull off
Scott says
I did this last year and it was awesome! I’ve been thinking about doing it again.
Lisa @ Grandma's Briefs says
I’ll say No. 2. If you had done that one, I would certainly own it. Or at least see a link to it posted here. (Yes, I’m quite the detective, aren’t I?)
Helene Cohen Bludman says
I’m going to say #2 but this is a toughie! I really hope the story about the TV is true — love it!
Liz Mays says
This is so funny! I think maybe #4 is a lie because surely other people around had TVs!
Cheryl Nicholl says
I don’t have to go any farther then #1. I just can’t see it. Me on the other hand….
Pam says
I’m always terrible at guessing the lie! I guess I’ll go with #5!
aimee fauci says
I hope #1 is a lie but if #3 is a lie that would be awful. #4 is something I could totally see myself do.
Bri Radke says
I have no idea which one of these is a lie, but they’re all pretty hilarious.
Lisa says
I’m going with #2. Just because all of the others seem so “everyday”.
Heather says
I’m going to go with #2. What a fun little game!
robin kall says

Jane says
I am going to go with #1 because I don’t remember you ever smoking….unless we didn’t see each other the entire senior year of high school….
Annie says
I will say #3 is a lie. It’s so random compared to the other ones 😛
maria @ closetotohome says
Hmm tough one don’t know you well but guessing you could not make up the TV one.

Amber NElson says
This is great. Great way to get to know someone!
Amanda Love says
While it might be hard to believe you were totally undefeated it might be true, but I’m thinking 4. You bought it just to watch a TV show and returned it the next day? I think that’s your lie. 🙂
Carpool Goddess says
This is so tough! Okay, well I’m not sure if you wrote a book, but I don’t think you’d smoke, either. Hmmm…I’m going to say the diamond one.
jamie@southmainmuse says
Gosh. So hard. I hope it wasn’t the TV because if you did that — you are really my hero! Hmm. Gosh. I go for the smoking. But you’ve really got me stumped.
coolchillmom says
I truly hope #3 is the lie. It would be painful for me to loose a diamond because those pieces all have sentimental value

This is a cute post. I am wondering what the lies are. I have to be sure to check back tomorrow.
Mama to 5 BLessings says
I cannot wait to come back and read the rest of this! Very interesting.

Pam says
I am going to go with number 5. We played this one time on my website and it was a ton of fun for everyone.
WendysHat says
I hate all this guessing! Ahhh! I will choose #5 because if you were that good I would have seen you on tv playing tennis! Hahaha!
Rebekah says
Wow – those are all great. lol I’m not sure at all which one is the lie! I’d guess the Tennis one.

Crystal From Tidbits of Experience says
I don’t think you smoked. However, this is my first time here.

Ronnie says
Ohhh I didn’t guess right. 🙂 This was fun though! I might introduce this to my blog, too.
Taya says
I’m going to say you have not lost the diamond at the race track. Just let me lose one, it won’t be a race track anymore. It’ll look more like a pudding field
Celeste - www.FashionFortuneCookie.com says
I am guessing, “I smoked cigarettes throughout my senior year of high school.”
