Every Thanksgiving, we go around the table, taking turns sharing the things we’re thankful for. We love this so much that we even shared this tradition when a few of our friends came for dinner a few weeks ago. It was awesome.
Last year, I shared a list of 25 things I’m thankful for – it wasn’t the 25 things I’m thankful for because there are so many more than that, but it was a shout-out to some of the things I’m grateful to have in my life.
I’m still grateful for all of those things and decided to add 25 more this year.
I’m thankful for/that:
1. Michael – and the fact that he’s over the sweater incident
2. Both kids are home for Thanksgiving
3. My parents live 10 minutes away, and will be celebrating the holidays with us today
4. Good health
5. Being kissed by elephants in Botswana last summer
6. Jazzercise, my instructors, Dawn Washington and Kristen Penk, and the women who welcomed me so warmly into the low impact class
7. Jenny Craig, and my counselors, Marne and Penny
8. I’ve lost almost 25 pounds in 3 months, thanks to the combination of both of the above
9. NaBloPoMo and the supportive Facebook group who got me through it
10. Movies like Saving Mr. Banks, About Time and Enough Said
11. The amazing women I’ve met online who have become such great friends in real life.
12. I made it to the Top 4 in Blogger Idol, and am still in there
13. My friend, Josh, gave me a car to review this week while the kids are home
14. The most fun sleepovers with my friend, Sherry, whenever I go back to New York
15. Hilary Clinton, Wendy Davis and Elizabeth Warren
16. Attending the TMS Travel Conference in Niagara Falls
17. The incomparable blogging community
18. Getting to hear Malala speak in person
19. Orange is the New Black
20. Swiss Air’s business class seats which gave me the best sleep I’ve had in years
21. I get to play tennis outdoors all year long
22. My neighborhood movie theater is Cinepolis
23. The fact that Anthropologie and Free People are next to each other and only 20 minutes away from me
24. “Royals”
25. The incredible, wonderful readers who have embraced Midlife at the Oasis

Great list!
I count you among my friends — “bloggy” and otherwise! I’m grateful or that, too! 🙂

As I sit here in NJ, bundled up in my flannels, bathrobe and my husbands socks, the house is quiet, and so I reflect on your blog. You know what? I love my family, but I’d love to be in your shoes for just one day. With the sun of San Diego on my back, the ability to play tennis at all, and having the abiility to go to several movies all week. That’s the stuff dreams are made of. You are one blessed girl, Lois. And this girl from NJ is proud of you.

Dear Lois
LOVE this list…..copied down the names of the movies you loved as always looking for good choices when I am in the mood. BTW your comment about the potato latkes…I mean anything potato is yummy right especially with sour cream but goodness knows MUMS make the best stuff. Hers look fantastic and I would have eaten the plate clean.
My Mum is coming for Christmas. I have already requested her almond filled raisin bread, lemon loaf, world famous coconut anything…and the list goes on. I am trying to be a good girl presently by not craving carbs but lord knows these cold times are hard for that. Thank goodness beach time is not until March for this chica. I would hate to live where you do for that reason alone..the constant sunshine never allows one clunky old sweaters to hide the sins of hibernation:))) xxxxoooo
